Position Overview Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Truck Driver safely transports materials and products between our Gnadenhutten and Beach City plants and our warehouse in Dover, Ohio. This position also makes pickups and deliveries at other locations, typically traveling no farther than the Columbus area. Responsibilities include trailer positioning, loading and unloading, equipment inspections, and accurate shipping and inventory records. This position requires flexibility to support changing business needs. When driving needs are low, the employee may be assigned to assist in production, or scheduled hours may be reduced. Shift: 2nd shift Pay: Base pay: $26.50–$30+ per hour Additional $2.00 per hour shift differential and an hourly safety incentive for eligible drivers Total hourly pay on 2nd shift with the safe driver incentive: $28.75–$35+ per hour Essential Job Functions Maintains a positive attitude and displays Company Core Values: Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Service, Interdependence, Listening, Accountability Works safely at all times and follows established safety procedures Transports materials and products between company locations and completes other pickups and deliveries as needed Conducts DOT safety inspections before and after each trip and reports equipment defects to supervision Maintains required DOT logs and complies with DOT regulations Drops, hooks, and positions trailers on company property Backs trailers into and out of receiving docks and service bays Maneuvers trailers safely through tight spaces, manufacturing areas, and areas with high pedestrian traffic Loads and unloads trailers and maintains accurate load records Performs basic inventory functions at offsite storage locations Completes shipping and receiving records Uses ProSight to transfer and receive inventory Communicates with the Logistics Manager to coordinate daily runs and pickups Works closely with other departments to meet operational needs Assists with preventative maintenance on trucks as needed Maintains clean and organized work areas Expense tracking through Acumatica Represents Progressive Foam professionally when working with customers, vendors, and others Offers suggestions to improve work practices Assists in production when driving needs are low Requirements Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) At least five years of truck driving experience Hazardous materials endorsement or willingness and ability to obtain the endorsement after hire Good driving record High School Diploma or GED Ability to perform basic mathematical functions Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds and push/pull with a force of up to 300 pounds Willingness to assist in production and adapt to changes in driving demand and scheduled hours Why work at Progressive Foam?
