About Raptors Linehaul Raptors Linehaul is a growing, asset-based trucking company providing reliable freight transportation across Canada and the United States. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and highly organized Truck Dispatcher / Load Planner who knows how to find freight, negotiate rates, build broker relationships and keep trucks moving profitably. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys the fast-paced trucking industry, takes initiative and is confident managing day-to-day freight booking and dispatch operations. We need someone who can take ownership, make decisions and get things done—not simply wait for instructions. Key Responsibilities Actively source, negotiate and book freight using DAT, Loadlink, direct brokers and established freight relationships. Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing freight brokers to secure consistent, profitable loads. Plan and dispatch company trucks across Canada and the USA, ensuring efficient routing, minimal empty miles and strong equipment utilization. Negotiate competitive freight rates while considering market conditions, operating costs and profitability. Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointments and driver schedules while accounting for hours-of-service regulations and realistic transit times. Proactively identify freight opportunities and plan ahead to keep trucks loaded. Communicate regularly with drivers, brokers and customers by phone and email. Handle multiple trucks, shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Monitor active shipments, anticipate potential issues and resolve operational challenges before they escalate. Maintain accurate dispatch records and shipment updates using our transportation management and fleet tracking systems. Coordinate time-sensitive operational matters outside regular business hours when required. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in trucking dispatch, freight booking and load planning. Must have direct experience booking loads from DAT, Loadlink or similar freight platforms. Proven ability to negotiate rates and communicate confidently with freight brokers. Strong understanding of Canada–USA trucking operations, freight lanes, driver hours of service and transit planning. Experience independently managing multiple trucks and planning profitable freight movements. Strong computer skills and ability to work efficiently across multiple platforms, emails and applications. Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Comfortable making outbound calls, following up with brokers and developing new business relationships. Ability to work under pressure, multitask and make sound decisions independently. Experience with Samsara, Rose Rocket or similar transportation systems is an asset. Who Will Succeed in This Role? We're looking for someone who: Is proactive, resourceful and motivated to keep trucks moving. Enjoys negotiating rates and building long-term broker relationships. Takes pride in finding solutions rather than waiting for instructions. Understands the importance of profitable load planning and operational efficiency. Is detail-oriented and takes accountability for commitments. Is comfortable in a busy office where priorities can change quickly. Is eager to grow professionally and contribute to the success of a growing trucking company. What We Offer Competitive annual salary of $65,000–$75,000 based on experience. Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to results. Long-term career growth within an expanding asset-based trucking company. Direct involvement in freight booking, planning and operational decision-making. Supportive, hands-on team environment. Opportunity to build lasting relationships with freight brokers and take ownership of daily operations.
