Truck Dispatcher & Load Coordinator

Truck Dispatcher & Load Coordinator wanted Cowdin Trucking LLC is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated Truck Dispatcher & Load Coordinator to join our growing company. Pay & Schedule ● Starting pay: 18−22 per hour, depending on experience ● Full-Time Position (approximately 40 hours per week) ● Monday–Friday ● 90-day performance/pay review ● Opportunity for increased pay and performance bonuses Responsibilities ● Search for and book profitable loads ● Communicate with brokers, shippers, receivers, and customers ● Negotiate freight rates ● Plan loads to keep trucks moving efficiently ● Dispatch loads to drivers ● Communicate pickup and delivery information with drivers ● Track active loads and help resolve problems that come up during transit ● Maintain the company load board and dispatch schedule ● Keep accurate records of rates, load information, appointments, and customer details ● Request and organize rate confirmations ● Handle detention, layover, TONU, and other accessorial charges when applicable ● Communicate with the office regarding completed loads, BOLs, tickets, and billing information ● Help build relationships with brokers and direct customers ● Look for reload opportunities and reduce unnecessary empty miles ● Work closely with management to improve weekly revenue and truck utilization Preferred Qualifications ● Previous trucking dispatch or logistics experience preferred ● Knowledge of DAT, Truckstop, or similar load boards is a plus ● Experience negotiating freight rates is strongly preferred ● Understanding of trucking terminology, HOS, detention, layover, and freight paperwork ● Strong phone and communication skills ● Comfortable working with computers, email, spreadsheets, and dispatch software ● Organized and able to manage several trucks and loads at the same time ● Dependable and able to work independently ● Good problem-solving skills ● Ability to remain professional when dealing with drivers, brokers, and customers What We’re Looking For We need someone who can simultaneously pay attention to rate, mileage, deadhead, fuel, timing, reload opportunities, and overall profitability. The right candidate will be able to choose profitable loads in a timely manner while also protecting the company’s bottom line. We are willing to work with someone who has less dispatch experience if they are motivated, organized, comfortable on the phone, and willing to learn the trucking industry.
