Truck Dispatcher

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Truck Dispatcher to join our logistics team. Responsibilities Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of trucks using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and phone call management tools. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Manage freight shipments from shipping & receiving to delivery, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation for all transactions. Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, driver logs, delivery statuses, and incident reports for internal communication and compliance purposes. Oversee road transportation operations by analyzing logistics data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall fleet management. Ensure adherence to safety standards, DOT regulations, and company policies during all dispatching activities while providing excellent customer service through professional phone etiquette and communication skills. Experience Proven experience in transportation planning or logistics coordination within a supply chain or freight environment. Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of vehicle dispatching procedures, fleet management practices, and road transportation operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry, analysis, and reporting tasks. Experience working with GPS tracking systems, GIS tools, and vehicle dispatch software is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to manage multiple phone lines effectively while maintaining professionalism.
