Truck Body Repair & Finishing Technician
Emerald Transportation SolutionsEmerald Transportation Solutions is looking for a Truck Body Repair & Finishing Technician who will be responsible for performing repair, restoration, modification, and finishing work on commercial truck bodies and related components. This position requires hands-on experience in truck body manufacturing or service and repair, with skills in fiberglass repair, body filler (Bondo) application, carpentry, surface preparation, and decal installation. The technician will work on new and existing truck bodies to ensure repairs and finishes meet Emerald Transportation Solutions' quality and workmanship standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform service and repair work on commercial truck bodies, including refrigerated truck and van bodies. Inspect truck bodies and components to identify damage, defects, or areas requiring repair. Perform fiberglass repair, including patching, sanding, shaping, and finishing damaged surfaces. Apply and finish body filler to repair dents, cracks, seams, and surface imperfections. Sand, grind, prep, and finish repaired surfaces to achieve a clean, professional appearance. Perform basic to intermediate carpentry work, including measuring, cutting, fitting, assembling, and repairing wood or composite components. Repair or replace interior and exterior truck body panels, trim, flooring, and related components as assigned. Install d ecals, graphics, lettering, labels, and vehicle identification markings accurately and professionally. Remove damaged or outdated decals and properly prepare surfaces for new applications. Use hand tools, power tools, sanders, grinders, saws, measuring equipment, and other production/service tools safely. Read measurements, work instructions, repair orders, and basic drawings or specifications. Complete repairs and finishing work according to production schedules and quality requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required PPE. Assist other production or service departments when specialized repair or finishing skills are needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications Previous truck body manufacturing, service, or repair experience preferred. Experience with fiberglass repair and finishing . Experience applying, shaping, sanding, and finishing body filler. Carpentry skills with the ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and assemble materials. Experience installing vehicle decals, graphics, or wraps preferred. Ability to identify body defects and determine appropriate repair methods. Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a production team. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift and move materials, tools, and components. Ability to work around dust, fiberglass materials, adhesives, body fillers, and other manufacturing materials while wearing appropriate PPE. Ability to safely work in and around commercial trucks and vans. Preferred Experience 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Truck body manufacturing or repair • Commercial vehicle service • Fiberglass/body repair • Automotive or truck body finishing • Carpentry • Decal/graphic installation Location: On-site HQ Fayetteville Salary Range: Starting rate: $26 (negotiable depending on experience) Reports to: Service Manager
