Reporting to the Truck and Transport Supervisor, the Truck and Transport Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing truck and transport equipment. This includes using computerized diagnostic equipment to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and test vehicle performance. The role will involve ensuring the proper functioning of the equipment and vehicles, maintaining high safety standards, and keeping detailed maintenance records. This position is based in Lundar, MB. Camp accommodations and meals will be provided for those located out of town. ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS WE NEED FROM YOU! Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair truck and transport equipment, including testing and making necessary adjustments. Conduct safety inspections on vehicles in accordance with The Highway Traffic Act and perform any required repairs to ensure compliance. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including oil changes, brake adjustments, tire inspections, and other preventative tasks. Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records for all repairs and services performed on vehicles and equipment. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before returning it, including road testing vehicles when necessary. Work closely with the supervisor to identify recurring issues, maintenance needs, and ways to improve equipment reliability. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored. Attend daily safety and pre-shift meetings to review tasks, safety protocols, and updates. Prioritize safety while performing all duties and responsibilities in compliance with industry standards and company policies. WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A POSITIVE IMPACT? Journeyman Red Seal Truck and Transport Technician Certification or Apprentice status in good standing will be considered a strong asset. MOPIA Certification or the ability to obtain is required. Experience with CAT S.I.S, ESA, Service Ranger and Cummins is mandatory. Basic knowledge of cutting, welding, fabrication, and air systems is required. Must be physically fit to safely perform the job duties and requirements. Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong commitment to safety, ensuring all work is performed in a safe and responsible manner. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Strong communication skills both verbal and written as well as electronically. Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
