Job Description: Transportation Coordinator Organization: Ashland Cancer Association (ACCA) Reports to: Angela Woodward, Executive Director Contact: 419-281-1863 | Angela@ashlandcancer.org Location: Ashland, Ohio Job Type: Part-time Salary: $18-19.50 Overview The Transportation and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the ACCA's transportation program. The Ashland County Cancer Association (ACCA) is seeking a dependable, organized, compassionate, and team-oriented Transportation Coordinator to coordinate transportation services for local individuals and families affected by cancer. This position plays an important role in helping our clients get to cancer treatments, medical appointments, and other necessary healthcare services. The Transportation Coordinator works closely with clients, volunteer drivers, staff, and healthcare providers to ensure transportation is scheduled accurately and communicated clearly. Because ACCA is a small nonprofit organization , this position is also expected to be a flexible team player who is willing to lend a hand in all areas of the organization when needed. Our staff works closely together, including supporting fundraising activities, special events, rummage sales, client services, office needs, and other projects that help ACCA serve our community. Key Responsibilities: Schedule and coordinate transportation for cancer patients and clients. Communicate with clients regarding appointment dates, times, locations, and transportation needs. Recruit, schedule, and communicate with volunteer drivers. Match transportation requests with available volunteer drivers. Provide drivers with accurate trip information and any special instructions needed for the trip. Confirm appointments and transportation arrangements. Maintain accurate transportation schedules, records, mileage, and trip documentation. Monitor completed trips, cancellations, and schedule changes. Communicate promptly with clients and drivers when changes or problems arise. Assist with transportation-related paperwork and monthly reporting. Help ensure ACCA vehicles are properly maintained, scheduled, and ready for use. Work with staff to identify transportation needs and help maintain reliable service for clients. Assist with fundraising activities, events, rummage sales, and other ACCA activities as needed. Help with general office and organizational tasks when needed. Be willing to step in and help coworkers/volunteers as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support ACCA's mission. Qualifications: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple schedules and changing priorities. Comfortable communicating by phone, text, email, and in person. Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently. Ability to remain calm and professional when unexpected changes or transportation issues arise. Strong attention to detail. Willingness to learn and assist with responsibilities outside of transportation. Previous experience in scheduling, transportation coordination, healthcare, customer service, fundraising, or nonprofit work is helpful but not required. Comfortable working with volunteers and individuals who may be experiencing difficult circumstances. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ACCA policies and procedures. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for periods of time, lift 40 lbs.,and walk up and down stairs. While transportation coordination will be the primary responsibility, there will be times when everyone needs to lend a hand.
