The Transportation Worker 3 Traffic Control position will be assigned to the Central Sign Shop in Kanawha County. Under general supervision, the employee will assist in various tasks related to sign production within the Central Sign Shop. Responsibilities include: handling metal sign blanks and stocking finished signs for inventory, pulling blanks for production, and cutting them using shears. The employee will also use a corner punch machine to corner metal sign blanks, a hole punching machine for punching, and prepare the blanks for sheeting applications. Additional duties involve applying reflective sheeting to the blanks, preparing and cleaning ink screens for printing, operating ink screening equipment to print signs and using a flatbed plotter to cut vinyl and acrylic signs materials. The employee will help with inventory verification, perform minor maintenance on shop equipment, and carry out light shop upkeep. Additionally, the role involves operating forklifts, man-lifts, and electrical pallet movers, delivering materials to district sign shops, as well as receiving deliveries. A CDL license must be obtained within six months of employment. Performs other related duties as required.

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of daily maintenance activities and of gauges and meters used in heating, ventilation, and cooling systems.
• Ability to climb high steel structures.
• Ability to train and work cooperatively with other skilled and semi-skilled workers.
REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION: No formal education required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Option #1: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the fabrication of aluminum or other metal parts, equipment, signs, or other fabricated materials.
OR
Option #2: Four (4) years of full- time or equivalent part-time paid experience in electrical or electronics repair, fabrication of aluminum or other metal parts, equipment, signs, or other fabricated materials.
Experience Substitutions: Successful completion of an approved vocational school program may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience in the specified area of assignment.
