Scope of Position The Transportation Specialist supports North American transportation operations by coordinating freight movement, managing transportation data and carriers, analyzing performance, and driving continuous improvement efforts. This position reports to the Domestic Transportation Director. This role is hybrid and can be based in Fort Worth, TX; Groveport, OH; Sparks, NV; or Franklin, NH. Primary Job Duties And Responsibilities Analyze transportation performance, freight spend, service trends, carrier scorecards, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for cost reduction, service improvement, and network optimization. Develop and maintain transportation reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data visualizations that support operational and strategic decision-making. Support transportation projects and continuous improvement initiatives by conducting data analysis, documenting business requirements, testing solutions, and measuring results. Assist with transportation system enhancements, implementations, upgrades, and user acceptance testing for ERP, TMS, carrier, and logistics platforms. Evaluate transportation processes and workflows, recommend improvements, and support standardization efforts across domestic and international operations. Develop productive working relationships with transportation partners, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders. Maintain transportation-related data, documentation, reporting structures, and system information within ERP, TMS, carrier, and partner platforms. Perform freight audit, invoice review, transportation accruals, reporting, and administrative compliance activities. Provide analytical support for carrier procurement initiatives, service reviews, bid events, transportation contracts, and performance evaluations. Lead shipment visibility, exception management, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to improve transportation execution and customer service. Provide backup support for international transportation activities including air, ocean, import, export, and cross-border freight. Coordinate domestic transportation activities including parcel, LTL, truckload, expedited, inbound, outbound, and intercompany shipments. Monitor shipment execution, resolve transportation issues, and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders. Support service, cost, compliance, and operational objectives while ensuring adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Assist with transportation compliance, freight forwarder coordination, customs documentation support, and transportation governance activities as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field. (in absence of degree, may consider relevant work experience) 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, shipping, or related operations.
