Transportation Specialist
All Service GraphicsOverview As a Transportation Specialist at All Service Graphics, you will be required to understand USPS mailing paperwork to ensure your deliveries are taken to the correct location. We primarily deliver to 3 locations in Orlando, but every blue moon we will delivery to USPS locations throughout the state. We also deliver to local businesses primarily in the Space Coast region but occasionally in the Orlando area. We have 4 vehicles. 2 vans and 2 box trucks. Drivers are responsible for taking the vehicles in for standard maintenance such as tire patches and oil changes. If there are any other issues, they must report to their manager to receive estimates for major repairs. Many loads require the use of a forklift and is a large part of being able to do the job. If you cannot operate a forklift, do not apply. We will require you to demonstrate your proficiency during the interview. This position also requires the candidate to lift over 50lbs, operate a pallet jack, and wrap skids with a hand-held stretch wrapper (bending down low). Once all deliveries are done for the day, you are welcome to go home or help in other departments for extra hours. This is not a 9-5 job where you can finish your deliveries and "hang out". Every other year we print a lot of election and campaign mail (season just finished) where we have mandatory (paid) overtime (1.5x after 40). Drivers typically will get at least 55 hours, but can exceed well past that if they're up for it. Responsibilities Assess the USPS information and local deliveries to come up with the most efficient routes possible for each delivery. Provide courteous customer service and clear client communication before and during trips. Follow traffic regulations and applicable state transportation regulations; operate vans and trucks responsibly. Load the vehicle based on routes (i.e., last stop loaded first, first stop loaded last) Meet delivery deadlines. Each location closes at different times, missing a delivery is unacceptable. If you know you won't make it in time, bring it up to management before departing. Inspect vehicles, report maintenance needs, and help keep vehicles clean and ready for service. Experience Required qualifications and experience will depend on the assigned vehicle and service. Relevant experience may include delivery driver, bus, van, shuttle, limousine, chauffeur, or warehousing. Strong communication skills, customer service, and a careful approach to traffic and transportation rules are important.
