Role and Responsibilities of Transportation Solutions Manager:
You will lead transportation management activities by developing solutions, improving operational performance, and supporting customer requirements across domestic and international transportation networks. This role focuses on creating efficient supply chain strategies, managing transportation programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide transportation management expertise to customers, business development teams, and account-level leadership.
• Develop logistics strategies and processes that support customer growth and cost-effective supply chain operations.
• Analyze market conditions, transportation costs, inventory impacts, and service levels to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead transportation bid events and coordinate carrier pricing activities to support customer requirements.
• Monitor transportation modes and identify opportunities to reduce costs while improving service performance.
• Manage carrier relationships and support continuous improvement initiatives within transportation programs.
• Develop and maintain processes for tracking new business opportunities and renewal activities.
• Ensure a safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment for associates.
• Establish performance expectations and support associate accountability through development plans and performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop transportation solutions, including operational plans, staffing models, costing strategies, and commercial proposals.
• Create processes, tools, and training programs that support effective transportation operations.
• Monitor solution standards related to services, costs, technology, and operational effectiveness.
• Support knowledge sharing between solution development and delivery teams during business implementation.
• Execute sourcing and procurement strategies while maintaining effective transportation processes and tools.
Required Skills and Experience of Transportation Solutions Manager:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Four to five years of experience in domestic and/or international supply chain or transportation operations required.
• Experience developing transportation solutions and managing operational performance.
• Ability to analyze transportation costs, service levels, and supply chain requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage teams, develop associates, and support operational objectives.
• Experience creating processes, tools, and training programs to improve transportation performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Transportation Management preferred.
• International transportation experience including freight forwarding, ocean, international air freight, or customs brokerage preferred.
• Domestic transportation experience including truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, rail, or parcel operations preferred.
