BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE – ASSET-BASED TRANSPORTATION UE LINE INC | Elgin, IL | Full-Time | On-Site + Travel UE LINE INC is looking for a highly experienced Business Development Executive to lead the growth of our direct customer portfolio. We are an asset-based trucking company specializing in Flatbed, Step Deck, and Conestoga transportation , and we are looking for a proven sales professional who knows how to hunt, close, and build . This is not a freight brokerage position. WHAT YOU’LL DO Develop and acquire new direct shipper accounts Cold call and prospect manufacturers, distributors, and shippers Travel to customer locations, plants, warehouses, and corporate offices Meet decision-makers face-to-face and build long-term relationships Negotiate rates, close deals, and secure recurring freight Bring and develop your existing book of business and industry relationships Create a strong pipeline of new customers Personally drive sales and revenue growth Help develop the company's overall sales strategy Build and lead a sales/business development team as the department grows WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Proven experience in trucking / transportation sales Strong existing relationships with direct shippers Demonstrated history of closing transportation accounts Strong cold-calling, prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills Comfortable traveling and meeting customers in person Experience with Flatbed, Step Deck, Conestoga, open-deck, or specialized freight strongly preferred Leadership mentality with the ability to eventually recruit, train, and manage a sales team Highly driven, independent, competitive, and results-focused COMPENSATION Competitive Base Salary + Commission In addition to base salary, this position includes a commission for each load generated through the accounts you develop. The complete commission structure will be discussed during the interview . We are looking for someone who doesn't wait for customers to come to them — you go out, build the relationship, close the deal, and bring the freight to UE LINE INC.
