TRANSWOODTransportation Safety & Onboarding Specialist TransWood is looking for a highly organized, motivated Transportation Safety & Onboarding Specialist to join our team. This position plays an important role in getting professional drivers safely and efficiently through the qualification and onboarding process. You will work closely with our Safety, Recruiting, and Terminal Operations teams to help new drivers move from a conditional job offer to orientation, training, and ultimately behind the wheel. We move quickly in recruiting, but safety and compliance always come first . We're looking for someone who understands both. What You'll Do Coordinate the safety and compliance portion of driver onboarding. Review driver applications and qualification documentation for DOT/FMCSA and TransWood requirements. Help to maintain accurate and complete Driver Qualification Files (DQFs). Review MVRs, CDL status, medical certifications, endorsements, employment history, and other driver qualification information. Coordinate FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements and pre-employment drug testing. Work directly with drivers to obtain missing documentation and complete outstanding onboarding requirements. Coordinate with terminal teams on interviews, road tests, orientation, training, and anticipated start dates. Track driver progress through Tenstreet and other company systems. Assist with driver orientation and required safety training. Help ensure drivers complete required company, DOT, customer, and position-specific training. Monitor CDL, medical card, endorsement, and training expiration dates. Assist with driver qualification audits and other DOT compliance activities. Utilize Samsara and other transportation technology to support driver safety and compliance. Identify onboarding delays and work proactively with Recruiting, Safety, Operations, and terminal teams to resolve them. Maintain consistent communication with applicants throughout the onboarding process. Assist with dispatch on an as-needed basis What We're Looking For 2+ years of transportation, trucking, safety, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, or operations experience preferred. Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations preferred. Experience with CDL driver qualification and Driver Qualification Files is a plus. Familiarity with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse preferred. Tanker and/or HazMat transportation experience is a plus. Experience with Tenstreet, Samsara, or similar transportation systems is preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple drivers and priorities at the same time. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer and data-entry skills. A team-first attitude and willingness to take ownership of the onboarding process. Who Will Succeed in This Position?
