Transportation / Routing Supervisor

Job Summary We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Transportation / Routing Supervisor to oversee our road transportation operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing routing plans, and ensuring efficient delivery schedules. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and passionate about logistics and supply chain management. You will work closely with drivers, dispatch teams, and clients to keep everything running smoothly and on time. Responsibilities Develop and optimize transportation routes using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS technology to improve efficiency. Coordinate vehicle dispatching and freight scheduling to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Manage internal communication channels to relay routing updates, delivery instructions, and customer inquiries promptly. Utilize transportation management systems like Oracle Transportation Management or Vehicle Dispatch Software to plan, track, and report on shipments. Oversee fleet management activities, including vehicle maintenance schedules and compliance with safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by addressing shipment concerns via phone calls or emails with professionalism and clarity. Enter customer orders where necessary. Skills Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, logistics, and supply chain principles. Experience with GIS, GPS tracking systems, and transportation management software such as Oracle Transportation Management. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for internal coordination and customer interactions via phone or email. Familiarity with DOT regulations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and analysis purposes. Analysis skills to evaluate routing efficiency, freight costs, and operational performance.
