Transportation Recruiter

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Transportation Recruiter and play a vital role in sourcing, attracting, and onboarding top talent within the transportation and logistics industry. As a key member of our human resources team, you will develop innovative sourcing strategies, manage candidate relationships, and ensure a seamless hiring process that aligns with company goals and compliance standards. Your proactive approach will help us meet staffing needs efficiently while fostering positive candidate experiences. Duties Develop and execute targeted recruitment strategies for transportation roles using platforms like ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), social media management tools, and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software such as Workday, iCIMS, or PeopleSoft. Source candidates through cold calling, research, job boards, campus recruitment events, and relationship management with industry contacts to generate a robust talent pipeline. Conduct comprehensive interviews focusing on technical recruiting skills, HR sourcing techniques, and assessing candidates’ fit for roles involving contracts, employment law compliance, and employee relations. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from initial outreach to offer negotiation, leveraging skills in negotiation and sales to secure top talent. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs related to driver recruitment, fleet management, and logistics operations ensuring alignment with succession planning and training & development initiatives. Maintain accurate records of candidate interactions, job postings, and hiring metrics within ATS platforms like Lever or Taleo to support data-driven decision-making. Facilitate employee orientation sessions and onboarding processes while ensuring compliance with employment & labor law standards. Experience Proven experience in technical recruiting or HR sourcing within transportation or logistics industries. Strong background in talent acquisition practices including executive recruiting, campus recruitment, internal recruiting, and employee evaluation processes. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with candidates and hiring managers while managing multiple requisitions simultaneously. Familiarity with HRIS systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or PeopleSoft; experience with applicant tracking systems like Lever or iCIMS is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization; adept at research and lead generation techniques. Knowledge of employment & labor law regulations applicable to transportation roles; experience in social media management for recruiting campaigns is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail in record keeping and compliance documentation.
