Transportation Procurement Specialist 1 - Kanawha Co.

Nature of Work **Disclaimer-this position will be considered classified-exempt and “at will.” The Transportation Procurement Specialist 1 will work in the Inventory Section of the Procurement Division. Under general supervision, this position performs professional, full-performance level work procuring for the Department of Transportation and is responsible for purchasing functions, reviewing purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, contracts, inventory, and records management activities. Work may include the purchasing of goods or services requiring an in-depth knowledge of the area of employment. May monitor inventory and/or fixed assets. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications **Preference may be given to Candidates with these qualifications** TRAINING/EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Substitution 1: Four (4) years of technical experience in governmental procurement, inventory management, or financial-related functions may be substituted for the training/education on a year-for-year basis through an established formula. OR Substitution 2: A combination of completed coursework from a regionally accredited college or university and experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis through an established formula. EXPERIENCE None required. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver's license is required. Promotional Only: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Transportation Business Operations Assistant Senior or a Transportation Purchasing Associate, with an emphasis in procurement, Inventory, or fixed assets experience.
