We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Route Planner to join our operations team and help us maximize fleet productivity while delivering exceptional service to our customers. Position Summary The Remote Route Planner is responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing daily route plans for our growing fleet. You will work closely with dispatchers, drivers, and account managers to ensure loads are assigned efficiently, delivery windows are met, and operating costs are minimized. This is a fully remote position requiring strong communication skills, self-discipline, and the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Plan and optimize daily and weekly routes for a fleet of commercial trucks based on load requirements, driver hours-of-service (HOS), traffic patterns, and fuel efficiency. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software to build efficient multi-stop and dedicated lane routes. Monitor real-time route performance and adjust plans as needed due to weather, traffic, breakdowns, or customer changes. Coordinate closely with dispatchers and drivers to communicate route assignments, changes, and delivery expectations. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, including Hours of Service and weight/dimension limits. Analyze route data and prepare reports on fuel usage, on-time performance, and cost-per-mile to support continuous improvement. Collaborate with sales and account management to onboard new lanes and evaluate route feasibility. Maintain accurate records of route plans, changes, and performance metrics in company systems. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred. 1+ years of experience in route planning, dispatch, or logistics coordination, preferably in the trucking industry. Proficiency with TMS platforms and route optimization tools (e.g., McLeod, Samsara, PC*MILER, or similar). Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service rules. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision. Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home workspace. Preferred: Experience with fuel optimization and cost-per-mile analysis. Familiarity with ELD systems and GPS tracking platforms. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $52,000 – $88,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
