Transportation Operations Specialist
PegasusJob Summary Pegasus is seeking an experienced and organized Transportation Operations Specialist to support daily transportation activities and help ensure efficient, reliable service operations. The ideal candidate will coordinate transportation schedules, monitor trip assignments, communicate with drivers and customers, maintain operational records, and assist with resolving transportation-related issues. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily transportation schedules, routes, and service assignments. Monitor transportation activities and track trip progress. Communicate with drivers, customers, and team members regarding schedules and service updates. Assist with dispatch coordination and transportation planning. Review trip records, mileage reports, and operational documentation for accuracy. Help manage vehicle availability and transportation resources. Identify scheduling conflicts, delays, and operational challenges and report them appropriately. Coordinate vehicle maintenance requests with the appropriate personnel. Respond to customer inquiries and assist with resolving routine service concerns. Maintain accurate transportation reports, service records, and administrative documentation. Recommend improvements to scheduling and daily transportation workflows. Ensure operations follow company procedures and applicable transportation safety regulations. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics or transportation is an advantage. Previous experience in transportation operations, logistics, dispatch, or fleet coordination preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with transportation scheduling and dispatch systems. Basic computer skills and proficiency in maintaining operational records. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Professional attitude and commitment to reliable customer service. Work Environment This position may involve working in an office, dispatch center, or transportation operations facility. Regular communication with drivers, customers, supervisors, and other team members is expected. Flexibility may be required to respond to changing schedules and daily operational needs.
