Transportation Operations Specialist

Transnet, Inc., an established freight brokerage and logistics provider since 1999, is seeking a motivated Transportation Operations Specialist to join our team. This position supports both freight brokerage and asset-based transportation operations, with a focus on sourcing profitable loads, negotiating competitive rates, securing shipments, and coordinating with our dispatch team. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Source and secure profitable freight using DAT and other load boards. Negotiate competitive freight rates with brokers and shippers. Analyze market rates, loaded and empty miles, and load profitability. Coordinate truck availability and booked shipments with the dispatch team. Verify broker credentials, payment eligibility, and load requirements. Maintain accurate shipment records, rate confirmations, and operational spreadsheets. Support daily freight brokerage operations, shipment tracking, and customer communication. Resolve transportation challenges while maintaining service expectations. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce empty miles, and maximize profitability. Qualifications Experience in freight brokerage, load planning, carrier sales, or transportation operations preferred. Familiarity with DAT, freight load boards, and rate negotiations. Understanding of truckload transportation, freight pricing, and profitability. Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and transportation management
