Hartford Package Inc. is looking for an experienced Transportation Operations Manager to lead our delivery operation in South Windsor, CT. We are looking for a strong people and operations leader who knows how to manage a fast-moving transportation environment: keeping teams staffed, drivers on the road, routes running efficiently, service levels high, and safety at the center of the operation. FedEx experience is NOT required. Management experience with Amazon DSP/AMZL, UPS, DHL, last-mile delivery, trucking, courier operations, fleet management, distribution, or another high-volume transportation/logistics operation is highly desirable. WHAT YOU'LL DO As Transportation Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the operation and the team supporting it. You will: Lead, coach, and hold drivers and frontline leaders accountable for performance Oversee daily dispatch and route execution Ensure routes are appropriately staffed and prepared for service Monitor service, safety, attendance, and operational performance Respond quickly to call-outs, route issues, vehicle problems, and other daily challenges Develop supervisors, drivers, and other members of the operations team Reinforce safe driving practices and company safety expectations Address performance and attendance issues consistently and professionally Partner with HR and recruiting to maintain appropriate staffing levels Support hiring, onboarding, training, and retention efforts Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions Maintain a professional, accountable, team-oriented culture Ensure FedEx service and operational expectations are consistently met WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We are particularly interested in candidates who have managed drivers, routes, transportation, warehouse/distribution, or other high-volume frontline operations. Strong candidates may come from: Amazon DSP or Amazon logistics management FedEx, UPS, DHL, or other parcel operations Last-mile delivery or courier companies Trucking or transportation companies Fleet operations Distribution or warehouse operations with transportation responsibility Other fast-paced logistics environments You do not need previous FedEx experience to be successful in this position. We can teach our systems and processes. We are looking for someone who already knows how to lead people, solve problems, manage performance, and keep an operation moving.
