Transportation Operations Lead

Overview Join Lady's Childcare & Transportation as a Transportation Operations Lead, where you will oversee transportation logistics and ensure safe, efficient travel for our clients. Success in this role means maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence. Description We are seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Transportation Operations Lead to support daily transportation operations.This hands-on leadership position combines student transportation, driver support, route coordination, vehicle oversight, and operational accountability.The ideal candidate takes initiative, solves problems independently, and supports the transportation team while maintaining LCT's safety and service standards. Key Responsibilties Operate assigned morning, midday, afternoon, or support routes as needed. Ensure drivers arrive at student pickup locations on time and prepared. Monitor route progress, delays, cancellations, and schedule adjustments. Coordinate driver coverage and respond to transportation issues. Obtain management authorization before implementing route changes. Support smooth transitions between transportation shifts. Report performance concerns and operational challenges to management. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Verify completion of weekly vehicle safety inspections. Monitor vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, and maintenance needs. Report mechanical issues and coordinate approved maintenance. Ensure phones, tablets, safety seats, student supplies, and tracking equipment are ready. Support scheduled vehicle inspections and equipment inventory. Assist with transportation updates and parent concerns. Maintain professional and timely communication with families. Follow all student pickup, drop-off, attendance, and safety procedures. Document and report incidents and emergencies. Assist with route assignments, staffing coverage, and scheduling. Provide management with daily operational updates. Support company initiatives, parent engagement, and service improvements. Base Pay: $16.00 per hour Additional Compensation: Weekly stipend eligibility and amounts will be communicated upon assignment and are subject to company policy.
