Transportation Manager

CBShippingSolutions is looking for a Transportation Manager who can keep deliveries organized, solve logistical challenges, and make sure containers and equipment reach their destinations safely and on schedule. This role sits at the center of our transportation operation. You'll coordinate deliveries, communicate with drivers and transportation partners, manage changing schedules, and work closely with customers and internal teams to keep projects moving. What You'll Be Responsible For Plan and coordinate transportation and delivery schedules Manage container and equipment deliveries from origin through final destination Coordinate with drivers, carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams Select appropriate transportation resources based on load requirements, timing, location, and cost Track active deliveries and respond quickly to delays or changing conditions Confirm delivery requirements, site access, and scheduling details Manage transportation documentation and maintain accurate records Monitor freight and transportation costs Review carrier performance, service quality, and reliability Help resolve delivery issues, scheduling conflicts, and transportation-related customer concerns Coordinate transportation requirements for custom or project-based orders Maintain strong relationships with transportation providers Identify opportunities to improve routing, scheduling, and overall transportation efficiency Support safe and compliant transportation practices What We're Looking For We're interested in someone who understands how to keep transportation moving when there are multiple deliveries, customers, carriers, and deadlines competing for attention. Strong candidates may come from: Freight and trucking Logistics and distribution Dispatch operations Fleet management Construction materials Heavy equipment transportation Warehousing and supply chain Field-service operations Qualifications 3+ years of transportation, logistics, dispatch, fleet, freight, distribution, or comparable operational experience preferred Strong scheduling and coordination abilities Experience working with drivers, carriers, or transportation vendors Ability to manage multiple deliveries and changing priorities Good problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong written and verbal communication Comfortable using transportation, scheduling, tracking, or general business software Understanding of transportation safety and compliance requirements High school diploma or equivalent required College degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related area is helpful but not required Experience specifically with shipping containers is helpful, but it isn't necessary. Candidates who understand transportation and know how to coordinate complex deliveries can bring valuable experience from many different industries. Problems are addressed before they become bigger problems, and transportation costs remain under control.
