Job Summary

If you thrive on solving complex challenges, influencing large stakeholder groups, and turning ambitious goals into reality, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact. As Manager, Transportation, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the most significant transportation transformation IPEX has ever undertaken. Working at the intersection of strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement, you will help guide the continued evolution of our transportation operating model while building strong partnerships, driving organizational alignment, and leading change across a highly visible, business-critical initiative.

You will work closely with operations, distribution centres, carriers, and our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to help shape the future of transportation at IPEX. Leveraging your transportation expertise, strong business acumen and a proven ability to influence stakeholders across operations, distribution centres, carriers, and service providers, you will drive alignment, strengthen service performance, and support the successful adoption of new ways of working across the network.

You will have the opportunity to build on the foundation already in place by helping stabilize, mature, and optimize a transportation operating model that continues to evolve. By strengthening key vendor relationships, driving stakeholder adoption, and implementing scalable solutions, you will help position transportation as a strategic capability that supports long-term growth, operational excellence, and an exceptional customer experience.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Advance IPEX's transportation strategy by leading initiatives that enhance service performance, strengthen operational effectiveness, and support the continued evolution of a complex transportation operating model.

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for IPEX's Managed Service Provider (MSP), providing governance, performance oversight, and strategic guidance while fostering strong partnerships that drive service excellence, scalability, and continuous improvement.

  • Own carrier relationship and performance management, cultivating strategic partnerships that enhance service reliability, strengthen network performance, and support the transportation requirements of a complex and evolving business while balancing cost, service, and customer expectations.

  • Build alignment across a broad network of stakeholders, establishing credibility and influencing decision-making at all levels of the organization while guiding the successful adoption of evolving transportation processes, systems, and ways of working within a dynamic and multifaceted operating environment.

  • Leverage transportation data, performance metrics, and business insights to optimize freight spend, elevate service outcomes, strengthen accountability, and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency across a complex transportation network.

  • Provide oversight for transportation compliance, customs activities, and financial controls while championing continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen organizational capabilities and support the long-term success of IPEX's transportation strategy.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a transportation team, fostering accountability, engagement, and continuous growth while supporting operational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.

  • 5–10 years of transportation operations experience, including 2–4 years of experience managing a transportation operations team.

  • Deep transportation experience supporting manufacturing and distribution operations, ideally within automotive, industrial, FMCG, or similarly complex North American organizations. Experience transporting long goods is considered an asset.

  • Experience managing truckload, LTL, intermodal, and parcel transportation operations, supported by a strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. rate structures, tariffs, and fuel surcharge programs.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to understand and apply data-based solutions to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that values service and adaptability.

  • Experience implementing a TMS and/or MSP, as well as exposure to flatbed, bulk, oversized, or cross-border transportation operations, would be considered an asset.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%, based on business needs.

The compensation for this position is between $105,500.00 and $131,900.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
