Transportation Manager

DUTIES: Position directs, plans, organizes and coordinate all activities of the department, including but not limited to: preparing balanced annual budget; applying for annual state and federal funding, administers capital grants; represents the County in various local and state intergovernmental activities and meetings; public speaking; ensures department maintains legal and regulatory compliance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business or related area and three years of management experience in public transportation; or a level of education that, together with experience and training, enables the applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge and experience. Experience with and knowledge of bus driving, public transit, non-emergency medical transportation, fleet maintenance and ADA equipment. Proven leadership and ability to problem solve, prioritize and handle multiple tasks Proven ability to work with diverse client base in a professional and friendly manner Pass a physical/drug screen/background check Valid Michigan Driver’s license with a chauffeur’s or P endorsement The qualifications listed above are intended to represent the preferred skills and experience levels associated with performing the duties and responsibilities of this position.
