Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. Transportation Maintenance Technician II: Performs moderately complex transportation operations or maintenance work such as: maintenance contract and/or material and process inspections: roadway maintenance and repair: light and heavy equipment operation: preventive and minor maintenance on equipment, traffic control: and helping the public during emergency situations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments: however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor. Transportation Maintenance Technician III: Performs highly complex transportation operations or maintenance support such as: contract maintenance and/or material and process inspection: roadway maintenance and repair: operates light and heavy equipment: preventive and minor maintenance on equipment: traffic control: helping the public during emergency situations: and training other employees: Work requires contact with private entities.
