Transportation & Logistics coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Transportation & Logistics Coordinator to join our team at our Lantana warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities, scheduling deliveries and pickups, communicating with drivers and customers, and ensuring that shipments are completed accurately and on time. This position plays a critical role in supporting our transportation fleet, warehouse operations, and overall supply chain. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and resolving transportation challenges as they arise. Key Responsibilities Transportation & Dispatch Coordination Coordinate and schedule daily pickups and deliveries for company drivers and third-party carriers. Assist with dispatching company trucks and coordinating efficient delivery routes. Monitor shipment progress and communicate delivery updates, delays, or issues. Coordinate transportation between farms, packing facilities, warehouses, and customer distribution centers. Maintain regular communication with drivers regarding schedules, load assignments, and delivery instructions. Assist in securing outside transportation when additional freight capacity is needed. Shipping, Receiving & Documentation Schedule pickup and delivery appointments with customers, vendors, and distribution centers. Prepare, review, and organize Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping manifests, proof of delivery (POD), and other transportation documents. Verify shipment details, including pallet counts, case quantities, delivery locations, and appointment requirements. Ensure all required transportation paperwork is received and properly filed. Communicate shipment discrepancies, shortages, damages, and rejected loads to the appropriate departments. Assist with freight invoice verification and transportation-related recordkeeping. Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience in transportation, logistics, dispatching, or supply chain coordination preferred. Experience in the fresh produce, agriculture, food distribution, or refrigerated transportation industry is a strong plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with Bills of Lading, shipping manifests, freight documentation, and delivery scheduling systems. Ability to communicate effectively with truck drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to unexpected situations. Knowledge of DOT transportation requirements and refrigerated freight operations is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
