Transportation Equipment Specialist - Marshall Co.

Nature of Work **Disclaimer-this position will be considered classified-exempt and “at will.” The Equipment Specialist will report to the District Six Headquarters Equipment Section in Marshall County. This position will perform full level work at the District Six Equipment Shop including Preventative Maintenance Management, compiling and monitoring of research and Warranty rules, regulations, and procedures, along with monitoring of the recalls associated with the District Six equipment/vehicles. Minimum Qualifications TRAINING/EDUCATION High school diploma or the equivalent. EXPERIENCE Required Experience is dependent upon the functional area assigned: Equipment Repair: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in vehicle and highway equipment repair, in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control of vehicle and highway equipment or as an automotive service manager. Substitution: Successful completion of an approved vocational education program in automotive mechanics of at least 1,080 hours may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience in the area of equipment repair. Equipment Operation Area: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the operation of highway equipment.
