Head Transportation
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
- Supervises: All bus drivers, bus aides, and small vehicle drivers
- Ensures each student, through safe and efficient transportation, takes full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extracurricular activities offered by the district. Ensures the transportation fleet is maintained in proper working order.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Develop plans on vehicle replacements and personnel needs
- Attends Transportation meetings and workshops throughout the year and reports to critical issues to the superintendent
- Recommend employment of bus drivers, and bus aides
- Evaluations of drivers, and aides
- Instruct and train all new bus drivers
- Maintains all records on vehicles, and drivers and ensures all drivers meet CDE requirements
- Conduct safety meetings each year as recommended by CDE
- Takes care of all bus routing, scheduling of extra curricular events, and other special transportation needs
- Process vehicle use requests
- Assign activity and substitute drivers
- Responsible for turning in yearly, monthly, weekly and daily reports as required, and maintenance records.
- Report data to the Colorado Department of Education annually via the CDE-40 collection.
- Ensure all vehicles meet Sate and Federal regulations
- May be assigned other duties of equal or less responsibility by the superintendent
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (scope of interpersonal contacts)
- 21 years old or older
- Possess valid Colorado Drivers license (CDL S endorsement). With a good driving record.
- Current first aid and CPR card
- Have per-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work with personnel, students, and the general public.
- Ability to prioritize workload with multiple tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is generally performed within a standard office environment. Must be able to stand, sit for long periods, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, twist push or pull up to 40 pounds and be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
