Transportation Coordinator

Job Overview As a Transportation Coordinator, you’ll keep freight moving by coordinating dispatch, tracking shipments, and communicating clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams. You’ll use transportation management systems and related tools to support reliable road transportation operations, shipping and receiving, and day-to-day logistics. This role suits an organized, service-minded professional who can manage changing priorities and keep accurate records. Responsibilities Coordinate dispatch and transportation planning; monitor vehicle and shipment status using GPS, vehicle dispatch software, and transportation management systems. Manage incoming calls on the phone system, respond to customer inquiries, and provide timely updates with professional phone etiquette. Find and negotiate profitable freight through load boards and broker relationships Enter and maintain shipment, delivery, and fleet information; support shipping and receiving workflows and prepare routine records. Communicate with drivers, carriers, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and internal teams to resolve scheduling or service issues. Your impact: Accurate coordination and timely updates help customers and operations teams plan around freight movements and address delays. Qualifications Strong communication, customer service, phone communication, organizational, typing, and analysis skills; able to manage phone calls and data entry accurately. Experience or knowledge in transportation management, supply chain, logistics, road transportation operations, dispatching, freight, or fleet management. Familiarity with transportation management systems; Oracle Transportation Management experience is preferred. Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is preferred; geographic information systems (GIS) and global positioning system (GPS) tools are helpful. Experience supporting transportation planning or 3PL operations is an asset. Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
