Transportation Billing & Operations Specialist

Voyager Nation Inc. is seeking an experienced, proactive Transportation Billing & Operations Specialist to join our growing trucking company. The primary focus of this position is billing and owner-operator settlements , with additional responsibilities supporting driver recruiting, safety compliance, and daily operations. We're looking for someone who understands the trucking industry, takes ownership, solves problems, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. Key Responsibilities Billing & Settlements (Primary Focus) Oversee daily freight billing and invoice accuracy. Manage owner-operator settlements, deductions, and payment discrepancies. Communicate with drivers, brokers, and internal departments to resolve issues. Monitor outstanding invoices and improve billing processes. Recruiting & Safety Support Assist with CDL-A owner-operator recruiting, follow-ups, and onboarding. Support driver retention and referral efforts. Track expiring CDLs, medical certificates, and other compliance documents. Assist the Safety Department with driver files and administrative compliance tasks. Support management and other departments as needed. Required Qualifications Trucking industry experience is REQUIRED. Hands-on experience with transportation billing, freight invoicing, or driver settlements. Understanding of trucking operations, deductions, rate confirmations, BOLs, and PODs. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel and transportation-related software. Preferred Experience CDL-A driver recruiting and onboarding. DOT/FMCSA safety administration. Tenstreet / IntelliApp experience is a plus. Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
