Under the direction of the Dispatch and Logistics Manager, the Transportation and Compliance Coordinator supports Magnum’s transportation safety and regulatory compliance programs across Canadian and U.S. operations. This role is responsible for coordinating driver and fleet compliance activities, maintaining accurate records, supporting audits and inspections, and assisting operations in meeting transportation regulatory requirements. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, HR, and drivers to help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient transportation operations.
Regulatory and Transportation Compliance
- Support compliance with applicable transportation guidelines, including requirements and regulations for entities such as Transport Canada, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and provincial and state transportation entities.
- Assist with maintaining company operating authorities, safety fitness certificates, and regulatory registrations.
- Monitor regulatory updates and communicate relevant changes to internal stakeholders.
- Support compliance administration for IRP (International Registration Plan), IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement), and CVOR, NSC, USDOT, and MC requirements.
- Maintain transportation compliance documentation and records.
Driver Compliance Administration
- Monitor and maintain driver qualification files and records.
- Track and verify driver licenses and endorsements, medical certificates associated with licenses, and drug and alcohol testing requirements, passports, visas, FAST cards, TWIC cards, and related documentation associated with cross-border work.
- Assist with driver onboarding and compliance orientation processes.
- Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) and ELD compliance.
- Audit ELD records and follow up on identified issues.
- Support driver safety reviews and corrective action follow-up as required.
- Provide day-to-day compliance support to transportation operations.
- Escalate compliance concerns, risks, or deficiencies to leadership as appropriate.
Safety and Training Support
- Assist with administration of transportation safety policies and procedures.
- Support incident reporting, documentation, and investigation processes.
- Maintain training and compliance records.
- Assist with corrective action tracking and follow-up.
- Support safety audits and inspections in coordination with the HSE team.
- Promote safe work practices and regulatory awareness across transportation operations.
Fleet and Equipment Compliance
· Coordinate fleet compliance documentation and maintenance records.
· Track and monitor preventative maintenance schedules, annual inspections, brake inspections, and equipment compliance requirements.
· Assist with permitting coordination for oversize/overweight loads, dangerous goods/hazardous materials, and specialized or heavy haul operations.
· Maintain load securement and permitting documentation as required.
Cross-Border and Customs Coordination
· Support cross-border transportation compliance activities.
· Assist with customs and border documentation processes.
· Coordinate ACE and ACI filing requirements where applicable.
· Work with customs brokers and regulatory agencies to resolve documentation or compliance issues.
· Help ensure drivers understand applicable cross-border requirements and restrictions
Auditing, Reporting, and Documentation
· Assist with internal transportation compliance audits.
· Support preparation for external audits and regulatory inspections.
· Maintain accurate transportation compliance records and filing systems.
· Track compliance metrics, violations, and trends.
· Prepare routine compliance and safety reports for leadership.
· Assist with monitoring CSA scores and provincial safety ratings.
Systems and Administrative Support
· Support administration of transportation compliance systems, including ELD platforms, fleet tracking systems, driver scorecards, and maintenance and compliance software.
· Monitor telematics and safety event reporting.
· Ensure compliance-related data retention requirements are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required
- Experience in transportation, fleet compliance, logistics, or safety administration.
- Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations.
- Familiarity with HOS, ELD systems, IRP/IFTA, and cross-border transportation requirements.
- Ability and willingness to travel, including cross-border.
- Legally eligible to work in the country of employment.

- Occupational Health & Safety certificate or diploma.
- Prior experience in cementing, civil construction, utilities, or transportation industries.
- Class 1 or 3 professional driver’s license.
