Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


  1. Deliver one-on-one personal training sessions to members seeking individualized fitness support.
  2. Independently designs and adjusts personalized training programs for clients, applying professional judgment to address individualized goals, performance trends, health risks, and progression needs.
  3. Conduct comprehensive new member orientations, including biometric assessments and goal-setting evaluations.
  4. Engage with members on the floor to discuss fitness goals and introduce the personal training program.
  5. Demonstrate proper form and educate clients on safety practices to reduce the risk of injury.
  6. Promote client retention through ongoing encouragement, regular follow-up, and program adjustments.
  7. Maintains an active personal training client load, generally averaging approximately 30 personal training sessions per pay period when operationally feasible, while ensuring appropriate coverage and continuity during approved time off.
  8. Develops and implements specialized fitness programming, including team training initiatives, aligned with club-level wellness strategies and member engagement goals.
  9. Audits and monitors training documentation for regulatory, safety, and brand compliance.
  10. Assists in maintaining accurate client files and contributes to internal audits to ensure data compliance and service quality across the personal training department.
  11. Advises club management on member retention strategies and opportunities to optimize personal training service models.
  12. Oversees tools and data systems used to track client progress and ensures operational consistency across sessions
  13. Coordinates internal reporting on client trends, program performance, and service impact within the assigned club.
  14. Facilitates and participates in ongoing continuing education meetings for in-club personal trainers to support professional development, program alignment, and service consistency.
  15. Assists with and provides advisement during the onboarding of new personal trainers, including support with systems navigation, documentation standards, and Defined Fitness training expectations.
  16. Oversees the administrative review and coordination of personal training agreement cancellations in alignment with company policy, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and appropriate follow-through.



Qualifications 

  1. A nationally recognized Personal Training Certification must be maintained throughout employment
  2. Bachelor’s degree in a health/fitness related field, preferred 
  3. Minimum of 2 years of personal training or group fitness instruction experience.
  4. PC literate, including Microsoft Office and various other products 
  5. Must have a valid CPR/AED certification, including infant and child, on your first day of employment working for pay and maintain valid certification throughout employment 
  6. Must have a thorough understanding of how to use all exercise equipment and evaluate member needs 


Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time 
  2. Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds 
  3. Must be able to perform the following tasks: walk, squat, bend, stoop, stand, listen, read and write
