This position combines hands-on mechanical work with transporting tank trailers between our service facility and local tank wash facilities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Trailer Mechanic w/ CDL A – Wood River, IL Details St Louis, Missouri Duties Include - Inspect trailers to ensure they are safe for movement and service. Transport tank trailers in and out of the service department and to local tank wash facilities. Perform road tests and verify proper equipment operation. Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tank trucks and trailers. Perform routine and preventive maintenance. Conduct tank trailer inspections and testing. Repair trailer barrels, frames, and structural components. Diagnose and repair suspension, brake, air, and electrical systems. Install, maintain, and repair pumps, blowers, and hydraulic systems. Perform welding and fabrication as needed. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT regulations. Requirements - Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Tanker (N) and Hazmat (H) endorsements required, or combination (X) endorsement. Air brake-qualified with no air brake restriction. Mechanical experience preferred. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable DOT requirements, including THC restrictions.
