Trailer Mechanic

Job highlights As POD’s trailer mechanic your responsibilities with include inspecting, repairing, and replacing tires of various sizes on a variety of trailers to ensure safety, performance, and longevity. Qualifications Applicants should possess strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Mechanical background Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred, but not required) · Must have own tools, Service truck a plus Must be able to pass a substance screening Ability to work outside in all types of weather Capable of lifting 50lbs with or without assistance Benefits Full complement of benefits 401(k) and Roth IRA with company matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Responsibilities/Duties Full time trailer(chassis, dry van, reefer, flatbed) maintenance and repair. Perform all levels of preventative maintenance services. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other parts to ensure they are working properly. Replace tires and tarps. Preventative maintenance on trailers. Frame repair Building and grounds maintenance as needed. Welding/metal fabrication Forklift maintenance repair experience a plus Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, stand and climb Adhere to our company safety and employee handbook policies Work in all weather conditions; occasionally on the road Required Skills/Abilities Highly self-motivated and disciplined Ability to follow directions and complete tasks with minimum supervision Ability to schedule projects//repairs and adapt to changing conditions Must be able to work flexible hours Valid driver’s license Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Can you correctly fill out a DOT annual inspection?
