Go-To TransportHeavy-Duty Trailer Mechanic Mid-Michigan Equipment Corporation (MMEC) Location: Saginaw, MI 48601 Job Type: Full-Time Job Description Mid-Michigan Equipment Corporation (MMEC) is now hiring Heavy-Duty Trailer Mechanics. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a State of Michigan Heavy-Duty Mechanic License before starting employment. Job Responsibilities Repair, maintain, and service semi-trucks and trailers. Diagnose equipment problems and recommend necessary repairs. Perform safety and maintenance checks, including Federal Annual Department of Transportation (DOT) Inspections. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer and DOT specifications. Certifications & Experience Must be a licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic in the State of Michigan. One or more years of experience servicing heavy-duty trailers preferred. Tank testing (HM232) experience is a plus. Must have own tools to perform daily job tasks or be willing to purchase them. Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting various systems, including heavy-duty electrical systems, air-brake systems, suspension, and safety systems. Skills & Knowledge Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to manage time and communicate effectively. Knowledge of heavy truck and trailer equipment safety. Ability to use or learn computer systems for diagnosing equipment problems and maintaining accurate records. Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
