Senior Transportation Project Manager (Traffic & Safety) — Upstate New York (Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, Binghamton or Ithaca) A well-established, multi-disciplined engineering and consulting firm is hiring a Senior Project Manager for its growing Infrastructure and Mobility group in New York State. This role suits an experienced traffic or transportation PM who wants ownership: running a strong backlog of NYSDOT and municipal traffic, safety and mobility work, acting as primary client contact, and taking projects from setup through planning, safety analysis, design, delivery and closeout. The firm titles its PMs across disciplines, so the role offers broad exposure to highway, bridge and traffic work across Upstate New York and the Finger Lakes. What you'll do Lead mid to large scale traffic and transportation projects from setup and safety analysis through design strategy, delivery and closeout Manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, billing and QA/QC, and review traffic deliverables for quality Coordinate with NYSDOT, municipalities and approving agencies, navigating public processes and municipal approvals Prepare winning proposals, support interviews and partner with Client Services to grow relationships and new business Mentor and direct multidisciplinary teams, and represent the firm in professional and community organisations What you'll bring 10+ years of civil transportation engineering experience, including project management of DOT funded highway, bridge or traffic projects Strong NYSDOT experience and familiarity with NYSDOT design standards Background leading traffic engineering, safety analysis and transportation planning or design projects MS Office proficiency (MicroStation preferred) and strong communication skills with clients, agencies and teams B.S. in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred) and an active PE licence (required) What's on offer Comprehensive medical, dental and vision, plus 401(k) and company-paid life and disability insurance Generous PTO, paid holidays, and an employee shareholder programme Hybrid schedule from your nearest New York State office Real career growth, with professional development reimbursement and tuition assistance
