Role and Responsibilities The Protector works with a team at various job sites to ensure traffic safety. Responsibilities include setting up and dismantling cones, signs, and barricades; guiding traffic using stop/slow paddles; following all safety protocols; communicating effectively with crew and supervisors; maintaining vehicles and equipment; and working outdoors in different weather conditions. Shifts may vary and can include nights, weekends, or emergency work. Standing or walking for 8 to 12 hours per shift is expected. The role involves strict adherence to safety rules and alertness around moving traffic. Qualifications And Skills Valid driver’s license Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods Capability to lift 40–50 pounds Willingness to work in traffic and in varying weather conditions Flexible schedule and punctuality Passing pre-hire screening, including a drug test Commitment to safety and respectful conduct towards coworkers and the public Key Duties and Benefits The role provides training, safety gear, and opportunities for career advancement into senior or supervisory positions. Compensation ranges from $16.00 to $16.75 per hour, with overtime and pay raises in the first year.
