Cardland Market LLC is an online trading card retailer based in Orange County, California. We are planning our first physical store in 2027 and are starting conversations with candidates for a Trading Card Store Lead & Events Coordinator role. Our exact store location and start date are not yet finalized. This is an early-stage recruiting opportunity, not an immediate-start opening. We will discuss timing and availability openly with candidates as our plans develop. We are looking for a reliable, customer-focused person who enjoys trading cards and can help build a welcoming local store community. You will work closely with the owner, handle day-to-day retail responsibilities, and help organize small in-store events on weekday evenings and weekends. Responsibilities: Welcome customers and explain sealed trading card products, graded cards, and accessories clearly and professionally. Handle customer questions and concerns in English, following store policies and escalating issues when appropriate. Run assigned shifts independently, including opening or closing, checkout, cash reconciliation, and store upkeep. Receive and organize inventory, maintain accurate stock records, and handle high-value items carefully. Assist with online product listings, order packing, and fulfillment as needed. Coordinate event registration, check-in, pairings, schedules, and results reporting using the relevant event tools. Help new players feel comfortable and support fair, friendly events, consulting official rules or qualified judges when necessary. What we are looking for: Strong spoken and written English for customer service and event communication. Basic conversational Mandarin is preferred to support day-to-day communication with the owner. Mandarin fluency is not required. Relevant retail, customer service, or store operations experience. Card shop or shift-lead experience is a strong plus. Familiarity with at least one major TCG, such as Pokémon, One Piece, Riftbound, Magic: The Gathering, or Disney Lorcana, and willingness to learn others. Experience organizing tournaments or community events is strongly preferred. Reliability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and availability for evening and weekend shifts once the store opens. Shopify, POS, inventory management, or TCG tournament software experience is helpful. You do not need to be an expert in every game. To apply, please share your resume and a short note about your retail experience, the games you know, any events you have helped run, your Mandarin communication level, and your availability for a role beginning in 2027. Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
