Role Description The Trade & Customs Compliance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cartersville, GA. This role oversees customs and trade compliance for imports and exports, ensuring adherence to U.S. and international regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing compliance policies, reviewing documentation for shipments, coordinating with customs brokers and logistics partners, and monitoring classification, valuation, and origin of goods. The manager will assess eligibility and proper use of free trade agreements, maintain internal controls, conduct periodic audits, and provide training to internal stakeholders. The role also involves supporting cross-functional teams on compliance risks, responding to regulatory inquiries, and recommending process improvements to reduce delays, costs, and compliance exposure.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Trade Compliance, including regulatory requirements, documentation, and internal controls.
• Experience with Customs Brokerage and Import Export operations, including coordination with freight forwarders and brokers.
• Proficiency in applying Free Trade Agreements and Export regulations to ensure accurate classification, origin determination, and duty savings.
• Experience managing compliance programs in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably in energy, technology, or industrial sectors.
• Ability to interpret and apply U.S. Customs, BIS, and other relevant agency regulations, and communicate requirements clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, international trade, or a related field; professional certifications in trade compliance are a plus.
