Trade Compliance Manager

R&D Specialist II – Trade Compliance 📍 Location: Houston, TX 🕒 Schedule: 40 hours/week | 8 hours/day We are seeking an experienced R&D Specialist II / Trade Compliance professional to support global trade activities and ensure compliance with U.S. customs, import/export, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide remote trade compliance guidance and import/export transaction support to Regional ITCRs across multiple business functions. Serve as a point of contact for internal trade compliance questions from logistics, procurement, and project teams. Act as a subject matter expert in U.S. trade compliance , including Customs, Import/Export, and Export Controls. Perform and validate HTS classification and Country of Origin determinations for relevant equipment and products. Ensure compliant import and export transactions in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other applicable authorities. Support duty, tax, and fee calculations, including preferential trade programs where applicable. Manage, oversee, and evaluate customs brokers and service providers in the U.S. Perform Export Control and Dual-Use compliance , including license determinations where applicable. Review import and export documentation for international shipments to ensure compliance. Support additional Compliance Department activities as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and database management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels. Strong organizational and management skills. Knowledge of U.S. import requirements, 19 CFR, ACE, HTS classification , and Participating Government Agency regulations. Strong understanding of international trade compliance and regulatory requirements. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience. 7–10 years of professional experience in international operations, import/export, trade compliance, and/or customs brokerage. CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) certification is a plus.
