Trade Compliance Import/Export

This position is responsible for providing support to the compliance team focusing on supervision of export and import compliance, assisting in the audit of AES records, screening business partners and aiding with the improvement and implementation of policies and training programs. Candidate must have demonstrable work experience with air freight and customs brokerage and be familiar with TSA regulations. This is a fully in office position. Responsibilities: Support the Compliance Manager with management of authorized agents and shipper records in websites administered by the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”). Assist with the integration of new agents, airlines, and shippers into the company’s business environment. Perform background checks and screen new shipping parties as they are integrated into the company’s network. Respond promptly to external and internal concerns, and implement corrective actions, when needed. Interact with employees and customers to answer questions related to freight forwarding compliance. Audit ACE/AES records, and assist with their distribution. Provide feedback to filers when consistent errors are recognized. Review the tariff classifications and pertinent data reported by shippers on their invoices and SLI, as well as assist clients and employees with the determination of tariff classifications, when requested. Assist with the daily review of import and export traffic through the company’s operation to detect and avert possible violations. Provide support to management when researching information to respond to routine inspections from regulators. Assist in ISO data collection and scheduling for the internal audits Qualifications: International air freight forwarding experience Customs brokerage experience Knowledge of international and/or domestic cargo and freight forwarding Knowledge of tariff classification, import/export regulations Knowledge of EAR and ITAR Familiarity with government shipping requirements Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: tariff classification: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Orchard Park, NY 14127 (Required) Work Location: In person
