Trade Compliance Analyst
AllSTEM ConnectionsGeneral Position Summary The Trade Compliance Analyst will support the client's Global Trade Compliance team with day-to-day import and export operations across multiple regions. The role will focus on international shipping documentation, import certification requirements, trade records, shipment requests, and coordination with internal teams and external logistics providers. The ideal candidate has hands-on international trade experience and can independently manage assigned operational work, identify missing information, follow through with stakeholders and service providers, and escalate matters requiring trade compliance judgment. Primary Responsibilities Prepare and review commercial invoices and other import/export documentation for international hardware shipments. Coordinate collection of customs, transportation, clearance, and delivery records from freight forwarders, customs brokers, importers of record, and logistics providers. Track product homologation, certification, permit, and other import documentation requirements and follow up with internal teams and external providers. Support international shipment requests, including laptops, marketing materials, hand-carries, returns, and other non-standard movements. Review requests for completeness, resolve routine documentation issues, and escalate classification, licensing, sanctions, customs, or other compliance questions to the appropriate regional lead. Maintain complete and retrievable trade compliance records and trackers for open requests and outstanding documentation. Support ERP/GTM activities, data validation, and other trade compliance projects as needed. Document recurring processes and maintain SOPs, checklists, and work instructions. Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify, or automate manual trade compliance processes. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 4–6 years of experience in trade compliance, international trade operations, customs, logistics, or import/export operations. Hands-on experience with commercial invoices and international shipping and customs documentation. Working knowledge of HTS classification, country of origin, customs valuation, and basic export control concepts, including ECCN and export licensing. Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, logistics providers, or importers of record. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated follow-through. Ability to manage multiple requests independently and recognize when a matter requires escalation. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across teams, regions, and time zones. Proficiency with spreadsheets and business productivity tools; ERP/GTM experience preferred. Experience with process improvement, automation, or AI-enabled tools is a plus. Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
