In this vital role, you will coordinate and manage towing and roadside assistance services, ensuring prompt and efficient response to customer needs. Your expertise in transportation planning, vehicle dispatching, and communication will drive smooth operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and uphold compliance with DOT regulations. Duties Coordinate towing requests by utilizing vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems to assign appropriate tow trucks or roadside assistance units. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette. Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely service delivery. Maintain accurate data entry of all dispatch activities, including job details, vehicle status updates, and customer information. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations during all dispatching activities and maintain proper documentation for regulatory purposes. Collaborate with logistics teams to manage freight movement, shipping & receiving schedules, and supply chain coordination for efficient road transportation operations. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, managing expectations, and resolving issues effectively through strong communication skills. Requirements Proven experience in dispatching within the transportation or logistics industry, with familiarity using vehicle dispatch software such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar systems. Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles to optimize routing and fleet utilization. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and internal communication purposes. Knowledge of DOT regulations governing road transportation operations to ensure compliance at all times. Effective phone call management skills with a professional demeanor and proper phone etiquette. Ability to analyze operational data to improve dispatch efficiency and support logistics decision-making processes. Strong communication skills for internal coordination with fleet management teams and external interactions with customers or third-party logistics providers (3PL). Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle fleet management software, or freight shipping & receiving platforms is highly desirable.
