Duties Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely. Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs to prepare vehicles for towing or delivery. Secure loads properly using cargo securement protocols to prevent accidents during transit. Perform vehicle diagnostics to assess mechanical issues and determine appropriate recovery or repair actions. Follow all safety procedures for vehicle loading onto tow trucks, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Assist customers with roadside assistance needs, providing professional support and clear communication. Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, vehicle details, and service reports for record-keeping purposes. Skills Proven experience with automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle mechanics specific to trucks and cars. Skilled in cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading techniques onto tow trucks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict effectively in stressful situations. Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and flatbed tow trucks. Knowledge of vehicle recovery towing methods and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers.
