Tool Setter & Crib Attendant
Location: Berlin, CT
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

g, setting cutting tools, and ensuring the machining department has the equipment and supplies needed to operate efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive, organize, and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and manufacturing supplies.
• Issue tools and maintain accurate inventory and usage records.
• Monitor consumable inventory and manage tooling purchase orders with vendors.
• Inspect tooling for wear or damage and coordinate repairs, regrinding, or replacement.
• Use a tool presetter to set cutting tools to precise dimensions.
• Verify tool specifications using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment.
• Maintain tool usage, damage, breakage, and daily activity records.
• Keep the tool crib organized and compliant with safety and storage requirements.
• Work closely with production and planning teams to ensure tooling is available when needed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience in a tool crib, manufacturing, or similar environment preferred.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, basic shop math, and tool presetters.
• Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
• Ability to read tool lists and setup information.
• Experience with MRP systems such as JobBOSS and Microsoft 365 is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and metalworking fluids.
• Ability to wear required PPE.
