Thrift Store Mover and handyman

Reports to: TFS Thrift Store Director Schedule: Varies, 10-15 hours per week, primarily during weekend hours Salary: $25 - 30.00 hourly (Depending on Experience) Updated: Oct. 2026 SUMMARY: The individual who completes donated furniture pick up for the TFS Thrift Store acts as a representative of the organization in the community. They are responsible for conducting themselves in a polite and courteous manner in their interactions with TFS donors. Our ideal candidate has flexibility with their schedule and an ability to manage and move sometimes heavy furniture. They will also be asked to do light maintenance work in the thrift store and assist with set-up and tear down of events from time to time. MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS: A clean driving record in the states of Nevada and California · A current NV or CA driver’s license, experience driving a truck preferred. Excellent personal, customer service, and telephone skills Reliable and able to show up to work on time and as scheduled Ability to manage and direct a small crew Ability to remain calm and professional under stress Comfort functioning as our representative in the community Able to safely lift and carry 70 lbs. Available to complete minor labor (fixes and repairs) in the store Skilled at small repairs to furniture Confident using own discretion in determining quality of items, and ability to politely communicate our limitations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Polite and timely interaction with donors at time of item pick-up. · Ability to communicate with donors directly on the phone or via text to confirm pick up or make changes to arrival times. Regular communication with the Thrift Store manager to arrange and coordinate pick up Loading and unloading furniture onto organization trucks · Assist in arranging furniture in the showroom. · Light maintenance and repair of furniture and items in the shop. · Able to work some evening and weekend hours. Help to maintain a neat and clean vehicle and notify store manager of issues Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings Provide support and assistance in set-up and teardown of fundraising and special events Assigned job tasks and duties are not limited to the Duties and Responsibilities noted above.
