Textbook Warehouse Specialist
The Logistics CompanyJob Description: SUMMARY: The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and other related supply records. Establishes and maintains automated Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-A) and manual accounting records, posts receipts and turn-ins and performs picks for customers. Reviews and verifies quantities received against bills of lading, contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents. Unloads, unpacks, visually inspects, counts, segregates, palletizes and store incoming supplies and equipment. Report discrepancies and obvious damages including examining store materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs work to maintain shop stock inventories. Maintains warehouse area upkeep. Collaborate with Supply Technician and place received parts and equipment in proper location. Check all outgoing equipment and ensure all documents are attached. Verify all receipts according to the data listed on the Materiel Receipt Document for correct National Stock Number, unit of issue, quantity and condition prior to acceptance. Maintain warehouse area in an organized layout and safe work environment. Inspect and operate a variety of warehouse equipment and arrange for maintenance and/or repair as needed. Ensure material in open storage areas is physically protected from weather conditions. Receives materials and/or supply products to ensure specifications, quantities and quality of orders are accurate. Process requisitions for supplies; prepare various merchandises for delivery and prepare packages for shipping according to established procedures. Maintain a variety of records, files, reports, documents of stock and ordered supplies as necessary. Conduct cyclic inventories and location surveys Demonstrated knowledge to operate and perform required duties using Logistics Information System (LIS), Cargo Movement Operation System (CMOS) and normally approved office computer automation equipment. Perform visual and technical evaluations of retrograde and turn-ins items for damage, quantity, documentation, completeness, and modifications, packing, packaging, preservation, marking and other requirements as required in the appropriate contract purchase order. Hours of work 0730-1630 (M-F) NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned/approved by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Essential: High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of Warehouse functions: receiving, accounting for and properly tracking. Must be able to perform detailed warehouse operations as assigned in accordance with AR 710-1 (Centralized Inventory Management of the Army Supply System) and AR 710- 2 (Supply Policy Below the National Level). Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) 2,000lb to 6,000lb. Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) before, during, and after use of MHE Knowledge of Warehouse functions: receiving, accounting for and properly tracking. Be able to perform multiple tasks. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization.
