Terminal Operations Lead
ConfidentialPosition Summary Ergon Inc. seeks a Terminal Operations Lead at its Flowood location. The selected individual will coordinate day-to-day terminal operations across North America for Ergon Solutions Inc. (ESI) Maintain reliable supply to downstream terminals through rail and truck replenishment, accurate inventory monitoring, and effective relationships with terminal service providers. Work across departments to resolve operational issues, protect product quality, and improve service and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities Terminal Operations and Service Provider Relationships Serve as the primary contact for operational issues at North American terminals. Coordinate resolution with terminal personnel and relevant Ergon departments and follow issues through completion. Maintain productive relationships with terminal service providers. Develop and improve operating processes that support reliable service and efficient product handling. Coordinate new terminal setups for ESI, including operational requirements, inventory processes, and communication with internal teams and service providers. Inventory Management and Security of Supply Coordinate downstream terminal replenishment by rail and truck to maintain product availability and support customer requirements. Track replenishment railcars, including consignment shipments, from shipment through placement. Maintain accurate status information and address delays with the appropriate parties. Monitor inventories throughout the supply chain weekly, investigate discrepancies with terminal and internal personnel, and support month-end reconciliation. Monitor SAP inventory flag levels for materials requiring close attention. Coordinate new order approvals with Customer Service based on product availability and supply constraints. Identify potential shortages, delivery interruptions, and other supply risks. Communicate the impact promptly to relevant ESI personnel and coordinate corrective action. Product Quality and Customer Support Collaborate with the Product Services Department to monitor and audit the handling of Ergon oils at terminal locations, address quality concerns, and improve handling practices. Work with ESI Account Managers to evaluate and initiate efficient supply arrangements for new customers and support growth opportunities. Coordinate with the Billing Department to ensure Ergon Mexico shipments are invoiced upon arrival. Cost Management and Continuous Improvement Review and analyze monthly terminal costs across North America. Investigate cost drivers and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses. Work with terminal providers and internal teams to implement practical improvements in replenishment, inventory accuracy, product handling, and service reliability. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Up to Three (3) or more years of experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, inventory management, manufacturing, customer service, or a related operations environment. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in inventory, shipment tracking, and operational records. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and operational issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to coordinate work across departments and maintain effective relationships with external service providers. Ability to learn and effectively utilize ERP systems, preferably SAP. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
