Terminal Manager– Trucking Company Location: Jarrell, TX Job Type: Full-Time Pay: Discussed in Interview About the Position We are seeking an experienced, dependable Terminal Manager to oversee day-to-day operations for our trucking company. This position will be responsible for coordinating drivers, equipment, dispatch, customer requirements, compliance, and overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is an organized leader with strong communication skills and hands-on experience in the trucking or transportation industry. Responsibilities Manage daily trucking operations, including drivers, trucks, trailers, and routes. Coordinate closely with dispatchers, drivers, customers, and maintenance personnel. Monitor driver schedules, deliveries, pickups, and service performance. Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, company safety policies, and applicable regulations. Monitor driver performance, attendance, safety, and productivity. Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance and help minimize downtime. Track fuel usage, mileage, maintenance expenses, and other operating costs. Address customer service issues and resolve operational problems quickly. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management of drivers. Review logs, inspections, documentation, and other required operational records. Help develop and enforce company policies and standard operating procedures. Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability. Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, delays, and other issues as needed. Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, drivers, and business partners. Take the lead on the initial response to accidents and incidents at the terminal. Make sure all accident information is collected promptly, including driver statements, photos, police reports, witness information, and equipment/vehicle details. Report accidents and claims to the company’s insurance carrier and management in a timely manner. Work to resolve minor claims quickly and efficiently when appropriate, including obtaining information and documentation needed to support early settlements. Coordinate with drivers and management to ensure all required accident paperwork and post-accident procedures are completed. · Qualifications 5+ years of experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or fleet operations. Previous management or supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and trucking industry practices. Experience working with drivers, dispatch, fleet maintenance, and customers. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation/fleet management software. Ability to make sound decisions independently and take ownership of operations. · Preferred Qualifications CDL experience or trucking industry background. Experience with ELD, GPS/fleet tracking, TMS, or dispatch software. Knowledge of driver qualification files, logs, inspections, and compliance requirements. Experience managing a fleet of 10-20 plus trucks.
