Temporary School Transportation Support Representative
Andover Public Schools, MassachusettsDescription The School Transportation Support Representative answers incoming calls from parents and school staff, solves bus schedule issues, provides timely updates on route delays in coordination with the Transportation Manager and provides general support to the transportation officer. Includes support for large yellow bus services as well as special education transportation. Responsibilities Job Overview Role: School Transportation Support Purpose: Help families and schools with daily bus operations and provide clear, calm customer service. Key Responsibilities Answer Calls: Handle phone calls from parents, guardians, and school staff about bus stops, times, and delays. Solve Problems: Research late buses, missed stops, missing students and other transportation concerns by talking with dispatchers and utilizing GPS tracking and other transportation systems. Log Issues: Accurately document complaints, questions, service issues, and feedback in electronic systems. De-escalate Situations: Provide customer service to families in a professional manner. Problem Resolution: Work in conjunction with the Transportation Manager, dispatchers, school staff, and other personnel to address specialized or complex transportation questions and concerns Provide Updates: Communicate timely and accurate information regarding route delays, schedule changes, and other transportation-related issues. Qualifications Qualifications Skills: Strong listening, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills, and basic computer proficiency. Microsoft Office: Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Transportation Knowledge: Knowledge of school transportation operations, routing, or related transportation services is a plus. Experience: Previous customer service, call center, school transportation, or related experience is helpful. Traits: Patient, reliable, professional, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
